wax polish and history everywhere … and the crowds came

Stonham Barns Park – one of Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday venues – has hosted its Classic Car Show 2024 (Sunday 18 August) and the crowds came out on a beautiful day to see all the exhibits.

The show – now in its 17th year at the Suffolk-destination venue attracts thousands of visitors each year to see the awesome collection of classic cars and motorcycles.   There were bumper crowds as the show was strongly supported by the classic car community. The event featured a dazzling display of cars and motorcycles from past decades.

The cars parked up for a stunning static display filling the entire showground. Along with the classic cars there were Club Stands, Auto Jumble, Trade Stands and food outlets, bars and live music.

The Ford Fanatics Club attended the show for the first time this year bringing over 20 Ford cars from the past to join in the day including Capris, Escorts and muscle-bound Mustangs.

Says Terri Forward of Stonham Barns Park, ‘The Classic Car show was a stunning day out for enthusiasts and families alike.  It is always one of our most popular shows featuring some of the best classic cars from the UK and this year was no exception. People were soaking up the nostalgia and swapping stories. Some very unconventional classic entries were mixed in with the collection which made it such a spectacle.’

‘There was such an eclectic mix of cars all with their own individual stories to tell.’

Offering facilities to suit all ages, Stonham Barns Park has a Pirate themed adventure golf, footgolf, adventure footgolf, shopping village, Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, Meerkat Castle, golf park, Legends Sports Bar, The Aspal Theatre, Café 24 restaurant, fishing lakes and fun fair rides.

Other car shows coming up include the Knuckle Busters Car Show on Sunday 25 August, the American Car Show on Sunday 15 September and the Land Roer Show on 6 October.
