Excitement is in the air as the Suffolk Kite Flyers Club gears up for a brand-new adventure at Stonham Barns Park. The club, which offers a thrilling adrenaline-based alternative sport, is all set to ‘cook on gas’ after making the leap to a new venue just in time for summer.

With around 30 members, the Suffolk Kite Flyers Club is now looking to spread its wings and take over the flat grass land at the 140-acre leisure, retail, and holiday venue, starting from June 1. The club, which was established to offer an exhilarating wind sport experience, is all set to offer power kiting, kite buggying, and blow karting activities for everyone to enjoy.

Originally, the flying club had planned to celebrate its 30th anniversary at its Rougham Airfield base in Bury St Edmunds in June 2023. However, after being given notice, they had to quickly search for a suitable replacement venue in time for the summer season.

Club member Tim Hunt, from Barking, Suffolk, has expressed the club’s excitement about its new home at Stonham Barns Park, saying, “This new venue is hugely exciting for us. We need space and a great place to meet up for this fascinating and exhilarating wind sport, and Stonham Barns Park has everything we need and more.”

Being a leisure and tourism hub, Stonham Barns Park is the perfect place for the club to showcase its unique and thrilling activity to visitors. The park offers plenty of space for flyers to practice all the moves and maneuvers, while also offering an abundance of fun things to do off the field.

Besides the opportunity to try the Suffolk Kite Flyer Club’s activities, visitors will also have the chance to explore Stonham Barns Park’s attractions, facilities, and events. From a wide range of shops, restaurants, and cafes, to a golf course, fishing lakes, and a teapot pottery, the park has something for everyone.

Overall, the Suffolk Kite Flyers Club’s move to Stonham Barns Park is an exciting development in the park’s leisure offerings. Whether you are a local or visiting from afar, make sure to visit the park and experience the thrilling adrenaline-based sport of power kiting, kite buggying or blow karting and join in the fun!
