Stonham Barns Park – one of Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday destinations – is welcoming an exciting new event for fans of comic books, movies and video games.

The Legends Comic Con Weekender, organise and hosted by avid Star Wars fans Jason Buxton and David Chaplin – will be held on 5 and 6 August and will appeal to followers of pop-culture of all ages. Combat2Coffee, a charity offering rehabilitation, veteran outreach, and training courses for members of the British forces, will be in attendance to fundraise, with the support of Vader’s Raiders Costume Group and other cosplay groups from around the UK.

Vader’s Raiders Characters will be at Legends Comic-Con at Stonham Barns Park for signings and selfies.

The Legends Comic Con Weekender will have characters from Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Power

Rangers and many other film and TV characters who will be entertaining attendees all weekend with opportunities for photo selfies and personal interactions. There is even the chance to play laser tag courtesy of Thetford based Combat Paintball.

Among the actors attending the event will be Frank Harper, Daniel Eghan, Martin Ballantyne, Eileen Roberts, Ty Hurley, Doug Grant, David Stone and Nathan Pegler.

Legends founder, Jason Buxton said ‘This will be a major event for the region, and we are very

much looking forward to it. We will be channelling some fantasy film vibes – with the focus on

bringing TV, film and games characters to life – plus there will be costume contests, merchandise

on sale, photo opportunities and actors from the films. A local band, GLU will be playing in Legends Sports Bar on the Saturday evening too which will add something extra from other cons.’

‘The hope is the event will become an annual show and build up the fun of cosplay in the region.’

Comic cons are staged around the UK and worldwide. Fans who attend these events often

participate in Cosplay or dressing up as fictional characters. Those staged in major cities

worldwide attract writers, artists, actors and directors who are often looking at film trends and the next big movie idea.
