fast-developing 11-year-old Lennon ‘The Force’ Wharf has been coached by Keith Deller and met his inspiration Luke ‘The Nuke” Littler on his darts journey

Stonham Barns Park – one of Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday destinations and a major darts venue for the region – has sponsored Brandon-based Lennon Wharf for a second year. Lennon is setting new standards for junior darts with his stunning performances at a time when darts is grabbing the sports news headlines.

So far he has scored over 800 180s.  He has won over 40 trophies in his time playing darts from aged three.

He has just completed JDC-Q school, had been shortlisted for the England Under 18s England Grand Prix in Coventry in May and will be competing in the JDC Foundation Tour this year to gain a JDC Advanced Tour Card.  He is also still continuing to play for Suffolk Under-18s at county level based in Ipswich.

Lennon ‘The Force’ Wharf – the name he chose from his favourite Star Wars films – he joined Target Dart’s Elite 1 team at just 10 years old which made him their youngest ever player!  The sponsorship is continuing during 2025.

He aims to be an integral part of the JDC Foundation Tour going forwards while breaking records as he goes and becoming the youngest ever player to represent the UK Under 18s.

Now with multiple sponsorships in place including the latest from Stonham Barns Park he is looking at a very bright future in darts.

Speaking about the new sponsorship, Alan Forward of Stonham Barns Park said: ‘Lennon is a very strong young player, and we are very lucky to be able to support him as he focuses on winning trophies.  He has a range of top sponsors behind him which will help him to follow his dreams of making it big in darts.  We think he could go very far indeed.’

Adds Darren Moyes of Evolution Darts – who works in association with Stonham Barns Park – said, ‘This sponsorship is a perfect match of player and venue.  Lennon is an awesome talent who I first came across at Stowmarket Youth Academy.  He plays to win and enjoys every game which is a great game strategy.’

‘He has a great attitude to darts for someone so young and his family are doing a great job of keeping him grounded while giving him every opportunity to succeed.  I really do believe that with the help of Stowmarket Youth Academy and the team at Stonham Barns Park he has every chance of making it big.’

Adds Gary Wharf, ‘Lennon took to darts from a very young age and showed real talent from the beginning. With seven years of playing experience, he is definitely making waves in the sport now particularly in JDC competitions.  He wants to play for England Youth and as far as I can see he’s certainly in with a chance.’

Lennon says, ‘It’s all about playing with confidence and playing to win. I take each game as it comes and learn from experience. That seems to be the best way to improve and progress!’

‘I do love to play and enjoy the competitive atmosphere.  Darts helps me with my maths but I am getting quite good with the scoring too!’
