Two-day extravaganza of crafts and crafting for all the family

A brand-new event – staged at Stonham Barns Park earlier in the year – is being repeated on the weekend of 21 and 22 September to keep the creative and crafting vibe flowing in Suffolk.

The Autumn Craft Market will be taking place to follow on from the Easter Craft Market which attracted ‘crafters’ from all genres from all over the East of England.  There were stalls with hand-made, locally produced gifts that are not available on the High Street. There were also ‘make-your-own-crafts’ areas with pottery demonstrations, and a chance to paint your own pottery, and various other crafts for visitors to try, along with many crafting stalls.  YouTuber Corrine Bradd from Crafts Beautiful Magazine – attended the debut show doing LIVE demos for the visitors and social media followers.  The demos included sewing and quilting.

The event will be back again during September says Janice Rowles from Stonham Barns Park, ‘We are very pleased to be staging a second craft market to coincide with the onset of Autumn.  It will focus the minds of visitors on what to do during the cooler months when everyone’s thoughts turn to the changing seasons, and we the idea of finding hobbies to do indoors!’

‘Although we live in a wholly digital age, crafts and hobbies are still growing in popularity in the UK – and these wide and varying hobbies and activities are bringing out the creative side in us all.’

‘There are so many start up business in East Anglia making the most of the hand-made, hand-crafted philosophy and we hope to attract many of these to join in with the event which we expect to attract many visitors again this year.’

‘Stonham Barns Park retail village is becoming a hub for crafters and hobbyists and that makes perfect sense as Suffolk is the ideal spot for inspiration and creativity.’

Hobbies and crafts including drawing, painting, macrame, knitting, crocheting, textiles, glass, metal and pottery will be represented at the show.

The weekend will also provide visitors with the opportunity to take a look around 40 unique shops that are open in the retail village.

Stonham Barns Park does not just offer great shows and events, it has many attractions for the whole family onsite including an owl and bird of prey centre, pirate adventure golf course, 9-hole golf course, vintage dodgem rides and funfair rides, indoor soft play centre, fishing lakes, water activities lake, teapot pottery, restaurant and tearoom and plenty of unique shops and much more.
