Tickets Please! The Big Bus Show Gets Bigger …
Stonham Barns Park has staged The Big Bus Show again (on Sunday 11 August) and it featured over 120 buses from around the region in all shapes, colours and sizes.
The Big Bus Show showcased both historic and modern buses – and other vehicles featuring transport through time. They ranged in age of manufacture from the 1930s to the present day.
New for the 2024 was a display of model vehicles to attract the crowds too.
Around 1000 visitors to the show had the opportunity to vote for the Best in Show Bus during the day, an accolade that is sought by many a bus owner, and there were also awards for Best Bus Operator and Best-Preserved Bus. There was also an array of trade stands including those selling transport memorabilia, a variety of food and drink vendors and showground attractions too for everyone to enjoy.
This year’s bus show was brought to the public exclusively by Eastern Counties Bus Preservation Group who were major exhibitors at the show.
Said Josh Forward of the Events Team at Stonham Barns Park, ‘This is always a very popular show and it was a bumper show this year. People are so passionate about buses as they evoke memories of days gone by. They are also beautifully preserved so are real show pieces. We hope everyone had a great day out!’
Said Jamie Vendy of the Eastern Counties Bus Preservation Group, ‘We were very honoured to be solo hosting the event this year. Our presence and following has drawn many new visitors and the event is now a major part of the bus scene in the East of England.’
‘It’s all about the nostalgia of transport and bringing some delightfully restored buses to a venue where they can be seen and enjoyed by all.’
Stonham Barns Park is a day out for all the family to suit all ages, other activities include The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, Legends Sports Bar, Café 24 coffee shop and restaurant, Adventure Golf, Footgolf, the Teapot Pottery and Tearooms, a nine-hole golf course, adventure golf and footgolf, holiday lodges, a caravan park, camping and glamping, and fishing lakes.
